Things to check before signing a lease or rental agreement
What you can see at the registry office, why the amount for priority repayment is determined by the date of mortgage registration rather than the contract date, when the right of priority repayment and the right of opposition arise, how the 30-day deadline for lease registration and the fine reduced in 2025 apply to me. Even the order in which rooms are chosen in the Busan-Gyeongnam Industrial Complex Area is organized down to the clause level.
Deal with it during the moving week (이사 주간)
Electricity, city gas, and water are handled by three different agencies. Things like waste disposal stickers, internet relocation, re-confirmation of the land register before paying the remaining balance, and tenant registration, which is handled together with the household registration transfer (전입신고) — we have listed in order the tasks to be handled during the 7-day moving period.
Residence Registration and Confirmation Date (Jeonilshin-go and Hwakjeongilja)
The move-in report (전입신고) is due within 14 days of the day you actually start living there (Resident Registration Act, Art. 16 (1)). This guide sorts out whether Jeongbu24 (정부24) or the local community center is the right channel, what gets done in one visit if you bring your lease along, which areas and amounts fall under lease reporting, and how dormitory residents are handled.
